Our first sneak peek screening of Vegucated took place Wed., July 6th at NAVS Vegetarian Summerfest at the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown, PA.
With 120-130 people in the audience, a standing ovation, and wonderful feedback, it could hardly have gone better.

Audience filing in for the screening.
The experience was especially powerful for us because we shot key scenes at the festival years ago with our film subjects. That weekend proved to be pivotal in the emotional and psychological transformations that Ellen, Brian, and Tesla underwent. Sadly, none of them were able to attend this year’s conference because of vacations, travel logistics and family concerns, but we recorded some of the feedback from the audience for them and for the video we’re making for our Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the film’s release.
Here are some of the audience reviews we recorded that didn’t make it into the video:
“I thought he movie was unbelievable. Somehow it’s got to be a bigger movie than some small documentary that plays at a couple of theaters, and you’ve got to find a way for this to become a mainstream movie that’s on Oprah, that’s on movie theaters throughout the country and on talk shows… It’s an unbelievable masterpiece. It’s the most important movie I’ve seen maybe ever.”
“It was really amazing. The movie was really touching. It’s really down to earth. It’s real people who are enjoying their transition and are passionate about turning their lives to a non-violent lifestyle and becoming vegan. Really it was amazing.” – Daniel Biron, vegan chef
“It was a very powerful movie. And funny! And tear-jerking. And hopeful! It was great.” – Amie Hamlin, New York Coalition for Healthy School Foods
“I loved it! I laughed, I cried. I wish everybody could see this.” – Jennifer Greene, New York Coalition for Healthy School Foods
“You know, I am so excited about the movie. I loved every minute of it. I loved that you used humor, and it was engaging, and there was not a single moment where it dragged or it was slow… I can’t wait until you have the movie ready for release.” – JoAnn Farb, author of Compassionate Souls: Raising the Next Generation to Change the World
“It was awesome! It was so good. I think it will speak to a lot of people… It’s really exciting.”
“One of the best documentaries I’ve seen in a while. It should be very eye-opening for people who are new to the vegan diet and lifestyle.”
“Oh my God, it was incredible… It was so moving. It was educational, motivational, and it hits every part of you.” -Lindsay S. Nixon, author of the The Happy Herbivore cookbook.
Looking forward to the next sneak peek screening in LA!
