  • Hi there,

    Welcome, welcome to the Vegucated Challenge! We’re really glad you found us and that you’ve made up your mind to take the vegan plunge. Woo-hoo! Give yourself a big pat on the back. Just like Ellen, Brian, and Tesla in our film, you’ve made a decision that will have a huge impact on your health, animal welfare and the environment. But you’ll have a little more time than they did to phase out animal foods and integrate new plant foods.

    Now that you’re on board, let’s get sailing. Over the next 30 days, we’ll be at the helm, hoping to steer you to a lifetime of vegan wellness. The overall goal is to phase out one food group each week.

    The very first thing we need from you: cut “give up,” “gave up” and “can’t have” from your daily jargon. We won’t be using those anymore. Instead, we’ll be talking about all the things we get to have as you’re introduced to the wonderful world of veganism–all of the things you’re gaining. The more positivity you embrace, the more enthusiastic you’ll be and the more likely you’ll be to succeed in this challenge.

    Over the course of this month, you’ll get meal ideas, daily guidance, and tips for beating the cravings. Each day has an overall theme, but of course you are welcome to move faster than the pace we set here. And if you fall off the wagon, just get back on course the next morning. Remember, every day is a chance to start over.

    We haven’t assigned specific recipes to each day because only you know what kind of food mood you’ll be in. But check the recipe index for a little inspiration, courtesy of many of our favorite vegan bloggers and cookbook authors.
